New opportunities…must read

I had hinted on Facebook a few times that something big was going on with the business.I was waiting to see what was going to happen with it and now that it’s over,I’m going to talk a little about it.I’m not going to mention specifics because I don’t want to hinder any further chances or someone else run with the idea but I feel like there is something to be learned from the whole thing.
We were approached in November by TV Producers about having a Cable TV series based off of us and there was going to be a few additional parts to the show but the whole show was going to be based off us.It would have been on one of the major Cable networks.We started working with them to try and come up with a sales pitch to present to a couple networks.They really liked some stuff and some stuff not so much.To make a long story short, we were cut last week. We learned a lot from it and I feel like if the chance comes along again, we will be better prepared.There is a lot of competition out there in this business.
Who would have thought that someone from the big town of Gibsonville would be approached for something like this?If you set your goals high,try to promote stuff as much as possible,NOTHING IS OUT OF REACH.
Marketing,Marketing,Marketing…..these guys didn’t find us in the yellow pages.I have been setting the groundwork for years…trying to get the name out there and trying many different things and you don’t have to break the bank to do it.Some things work and some things don’t. You have to find what works for you.I know what worked in this instance and I’m going to keep that a secret.If you don’t put your self out there,how are people going to find you?
When I say Marketing,this don’t just apply to business. If you are in a job where you would like to be promoted,put the work into it.Most of the time stuff isn’t going to be just handed to you.Promote yourself,increase your training,etc…Don’t just set back and think it’s going to come to you for nothing.
